Career coaching

What is study choice
coaching?
Choosing a course of study is one of the first steps towards a career that suits you: you choose a course (in secondary or higher education) that will hopefully prepare you as well as possible for the job you want to do later on.

Choosing a course of study at a young age is not always easy: some young people around you already know what they want to do, while you may be at a loss. You may think: is study guidance right for me, I'm still so young?

The answer is “yes”: even at a young age, coaching can provide you with interesting insights to help you make the right study choice. For example, you will get answers to questions such as:

Which study programme suits me and am I choosing it because others want me to?
What do I enjoy doing in life and how can I translate that into a job later on?
What am I good at at the moment? What are my talents?
What should I take into account when choosing a job: what suits me well at the moment and what doesn't?

And so on...
What is career
coaching?
Under career coaching we can categorise different aspects:
-
To what extent do you know yourself and what you want?
-
To what extent are you able to translate your withes and possibilities to the labour market?
-
To what extent do you feel confident to apply for the job you want?
-
To what extent do you have a good CV and motivation letter which is suitable for the vacancy or vacancies you are applying for?
-
To what extent are you ready for an interview?
-
etc.

A Career Coach can help you deal with these and related questions.
How do I work as a Career Coach?
In an intake session we specify your question, trajectory and the result you wish to achieve after the sessions. This trajectory can be more about you as a person (‘Who am I?’, ‘Which competencies and knowledge skills do I have?’, ‘What do I want?’), about the market or about the connection between the two. It can also contain multiple aspects from the above.
